Brighton forced a 2-2 draw against its guest, Liverpool, in the match hosted by Falmer Stadium, this Sunday evening, in the eighth round of the English Premier League.
Liverpool’s double was scored by Mohamed Salah in the 40th and 45th minutes, while Brighton’s goals were scored by Simon Adingra in the 20th minute and Lewis Dunk in the 78th minute.

With that result, Liverpool raised its score to 17 points in third place, and Brighton raised its score to 16 points in sixth place.

Brighton opened the scoring in the 20th minute, after Van Dijk made a mistake in passing the ball to Mac Allister, only for Adingra to cut it off and take advantage of Alisson’s poor positioning in his goal, to hit a ground ball from outside the area that went into the net.

Liverpool tried to respond in the 24th minute, with a series of quick passes that ended with Salah on the right side of the penalty area, shooting a curved ball that went wide of the goal.

Brighton almost added the second goal in the 31st minute, after a quick start from Paliba from deep, manipulating Arnold, before he shot a ground ball from the edge of the area, which passed next to the post.

Adingra tried to deceive Alisson again in the 39th minute, sending a cross from the right side directly towards the goal, but his ball went over the crossbar.

Liverpool succeeded in adjusting the score in the 40th minute, after Nunez passed the ball to the unmarked Ilott inside the area, but he preferred to leave it to Salah next to him, who shot a direct low ball into the net.

Liverpool won a penalty kick in the 43rd minute, after goalkeeper Verbruggen made a mistake in passing the ball inside the area, but Soboslaj cut it off and was blocked by Gross.

Salah successfully executed the kick with a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, ending the first half with Liverpool leading (2-1).
Brighton wasted a clear opportunity to add the second goal in the 49th minute, after Adingra received a magical through ball inside the area, to manipulate Robertson and go one-on-one with Alisson, after which he shot a ball that the Brazilian goalkeeper excelled in blocking.

Ferguson followed with a curved shot from the edge of the area in the 51st minute, which passed next to the post.

Liverpool missed the opportunity to add a third and killed the match in the 54th minute, after Suboslai sent a cross inside the 6-yard area towards Gravenberch, completely unmarked and in front of the goal devoid of its goalkeeper, and he surprisingly shot a direct ball that hit the crossbar.

Gravenberch tried again in the 65th minute, receiving a pass inside the area, then playing with Dank, before shooting a ball that Verbruggen easily caught.

Liverpool’s advance towards Brighton’s goal continued, with Diaz receiving a through ball on the left side of the penalty area in the 68th minute, shooting a powerful ball that passed next to the post.

Nunez rose to a cross from Robertson from the left side in the 74th minute, shooting a header that went wide of the goal.

Brighton was able to equalize the score in the 78th minute, after Dunk followed up on a cross from a foul, shooting a direct ball into the net amid a complete absence of oversight from Liverpool’s defence.

Brighton wasted a clear opportunity to score a fatal third goal in the 84th minute, after Pedro, unmarked inside the area, received a ground cross and shot a direct shot that strangely went over the crossbar.

Diaz tried to snatch the three points for Liverpool with a shot from the edge of the area in the 88th minute, but it went wide of the goal, ending the match in a draw (2-2).
